In a 2018 survey of children and young people in New Zealand about what they believe makes a good life, 30 percent of respondents said that being happy and enjoying life made for a good life. Elsewhere, 20 percent said that having supportive family and friends makes for a good life. In October and November 2018, the New Zealand government sought the views of children and young people to help them formulate the Child and Youth Wellbeing Strategy.
