Organ transplants in Colombia 2010-2023

In 2023, the number of organ transplants, including kidney, heart, lung, liver, pancreas, and small bowel, carried out in Colombia amounted to 1,423 interventions, up from the 1,210 transplants reported a year earlier. This was the highest annual number of transplants recorded in the South American country in the given period. The sudden drop in organ transplants in Colombia between 2019 and 2020 occurred along with the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
