Number of Facebook users in Hungary 2018-2024
The number of Facebook users in Hungary amounted to 7.11 million as of July 2024, making Facebook the most widely used social media platform in the country. The highest number of users was recorded in March 2022 at 7.43 million people.
Facebook user demographics
The Hungarian version of Facebook was launched in 2008 and quickly became an almost essential part of people’s lives. As of 2023, approximately 63 percent of Hungarians had a Facebook account. The social media platform has been nearly equally popular with both genders, recording a slightly higher share of female users. Furthermore, in 2023, most Hungarian Facebook users were between the ages of 25 to 34 years old, while the second-biggest user group consisted of people between 35 and 44 years.
Facebook Messenger user demographics
Messenger, the messaging platform developed by Facebook in 2008, can be considered the primary channel of communication for most Hungarians. In January 2023, Facebook Messenger had approximately 5.6 million registered users in the country. The majority of these users were men between the ages of 25 and 35 years, while women of the same age constituted the second-largest age group.
