The majority of Japanese respondents, almost 30 percent, were willing to spend the same amount of money on electric cars as on conventional vehicles, according to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in June 2019. In contrast, only about three percent of respondents in Japan showed the readiness to pay up to 50 percent more on electric vehicle purchases.
