About 45 percent of the respondents of a survey about fake news in the Indian media said they had seen stories that were completely made up for political or commercial reasons. Fake news is a pressing issue for today's socio-political environment and it is getting harder to differentiate between misleading information from the real facts. To understand the problem of disinformation, the survey respondents were asked to state the different kinds of fake news that they came across over the preceding week of the survey period.
