In 2019, approximately half of the people in Wales, who did not make recreational outdoor visits in four weeks prior to a survey, stated that the reason for this was a lack of time or being too busy. The finding is a result from a nationally representative survey on recreational outdoors activities participation in Wales with a sample of 12,000 respondents. There were 500 people who hadn't visited a recreational outdoors area in the past month and gave a response to the question: 'For what reasons, if any, have you not made any visits to the outdoors in the last four weeks?'.
