This statistic shows the prevalence of smoking among adolescents in Malaysia in 2017, by school level. In 2017, 12.8 percent of Form 1 students, who were in the first year of secondary school and around the age of 13 years old, admitted to be smokers. The highest prevalence of smoking was found to be among respondents in Form 4, the second-last year of secondary school and around the age of 16 years old, with 15.3 percent admitting to being smokers.
