Between 2024 and 2028, it is forecast that China will be the leading country in terms of new solar PV (photovoltaic) capacity installations, with a total of 2.1 terawatts on a high scenario and 1.5 terawatts on a low scenario. The United States is expected to install 366 gigawatts of solar PV capacity by 2028 on a high scenario. In 2023, there were 447 gigawatts worth of new PV capacity installed worldwide.
