This statistic shows the results of vulnerability assessment for India's Himalayan region in 2019, by select state. The vulnerability index for Assam was the highest at 0.72, while Sikkim was shown to be the least vulnerable state with an index of 0.42. The data was drawn out of the vulnerability index of twelve Indian Himalayan states.
However, the study cautions that vulnerability is a relative measure and thus the assessment does not portray states with a low vulnerability index as less prone to risk in an absolute state. Rather, the assessment is only relative to other states.

According to the source, the vulnerability index was compiled through a comprehensive study of relevant environmental indicators along with a guided methodology to aggregate results. The index aims to provide a quantified status of vulnerability and is largely conceptual in its utility. The value does not have any stand-alone practical significance.
