In 2020, Singapore had an index score of 25.45 in terms of its autonomous vehicle readiness, placing it on first rank within the Asia Pacific region. Comparatively, India scored 6.95 in terms of its autonomous vehicle readiness in 2020.
The Autonomous Vehicles Readiness Index (AVRI) measures the level of preparedness for autonomous vehicles in 30 countries. It is a composite index that combines 30 individual measures in the categories AV regulations, government-funded AV pilots and AV-focused agency, government readiness for change, effectiveness of legislative process and efficiency of the legal system in challenging regulations and data-sharing environment from a range of sources into a single score.
