In 2019, the leading companies among the ones providing IT services in Italy were Accenture S.p.A. and IBM Italia S.p.A. According to the figures provided by Competitive Data, the revenues generated in 2019 by Accenture and IBM in Italy amounted to 1.8 and 1.7 billion euros, respectively. Tech Data Italia followed, although at a considerable distance, given that it generated revenues for 1.1 billion euros.
Italian IT sector development
The analysis of the financial data of a significant number of firms which provide IT services in Italy, revealed that the net result and the earnings before taxes (EBT) of those companies experienced a great decrease between 2017 and 2018. More specifically, the net result drop from 427 to 222 million euros, whereas the EBT decreased from 534 to 314 million euros. Also, the data regarding the net revenues show a positive trend during this timeframe.
