The number of international tourists visiting Egypt for holiday, leisure, and recreational purposes reached 12.6 million in 2019. Up from around 11 million the year before. Over the observed period, tourist arrivals for leisure were highest in 2010 and lowest in 2016. Since 2016, individuals visiting for recreational reasons followed an increasing trend.
