The number of same-day tourists traveling from Mexico to other countries showed a constant decrease from 2016 to 2021. That last year, due to the effect of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, around 21.3 excursionists exited the Latin American country, 41.65 million less than two years prior. In 2022, the data showed an increase of 32 percent, reaching over 28 million outbound excursionists.
