Updating at a Snail’s Pace
The familiar process of Android updates started from scratch again in July with Jelly Bean. This latest version of Google’s operating system is now running on 1.8 percent of all Android devices. The update speed of Jelly Bean is proving slightly faster than that of its predecessor, Ice Cream Sandwich. In three months, the latter was installed on 1.6 percent of all Android devices. Even though Jelly Bean is slightly faster, everything remains the same: the updates are continuing at a snail’s pace.
