Super Bowl LV is less than a week away, and many are pegging the championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a classic battle of old versus new. Former New England Patriot and 43-year-old quarterback Tom Brady leads the Bucs to their first Super Bowl since 2003 (Brady’s tenth appearance in 20 seasons). The much younger Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs, who was the 2018 NFL MVP at the age of 23, will look to go back-to-back as the Super Bowl MVP this year. New survey data shows fans expect the Chiefs to repeat as champions despite Brady’s vast winning experience in the Big Game.
According to a new survey from Morning Consult, 41 percent of football fans expect the Chiefs to win Super Bowl LV compared to just 24 percent who have the Bucs as their favorite. However, more people like a certain player on the Bucs rather than the entire team, with 36 percent saying it was a major reason them rooting for Tampa Bay compared to 29 percent of those in favor of the Chiefs. Overall, the Chiefs were the more popular team but many are still loyal to their favorite player – most likely Brady.
