China is by far the biggest e-commerce market in the world as seen in figures from Statista Market Insights. This year, e-commerce sales in the country are standing at $1.24 trillion. While the market is currently slumping, Statista analysts expect it to make up for lost momentum with a growth of 62 percent to more than $2 trillion by 2029.
Revenues generated in China make up the majority of the Asian market. Other markets on the continent and in the developing world in general are also growing fast, however. Markets that are not China, the U.S. or Europe are expected to grow by 53 percent over the next five years
In Europe and the U.S., e-commerce is expected to grow by 51 percent to 59 percent over the given time frame, with the American market the second biggest after China.
