According to a new poll released by Ipsos and Reuters, a majority of Americans disagree with President Trump’s handling of the situation on Iran. 53 percent of U.S. adults surveyed between Jan 6 and 7 said that they disapproved – in some capacity – with the president’s actions. 39 percent said they strongly disapproved of Trump’s conduct.
The survey was conducted after top Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani was killed in a U.S. drone strike on Sunday, but before the country retaliated with missile strikes on U.S. troops based in Iraq.
Responses were mainly split along party lines. 86 percent of Democrats disapproved of Trump’s handling of Iran, while 79 percent of Republicans approved, bringing in the final count approximately to 50:40 against the president, with almost one in ten American saying they did not have an opinion on the matter.
