Trump is going to hold a speech from the Lincoln Memorial while there will be a military parade featuring armoured vehicles and a flyover from fighter jets.
Democrats have been quick to condemn the politicization of America's national holiday and its cost. The National Park Service is reportedly diverting almost $2.5 million to finance it. Amid the controversy, how do the U.S. public feel about the Independence Day transformation in Washington?
A Monmouth University poll found that most Americans are actually unaware of it with 80 percent saying they never heard about the event. Out of those that do, a 52 percent majority say they approve it while 34 percent disapprove.
