Households Waste More Food Than Estimated
Food Waste
According to a study by Movinga, almost one quarter of all food bought by private households in the U.S. gets wasted. However, if asked, U.S. households estimate their food waste problem to be considerably lower. A similar discrepancy in actual and estimated food waste can be observed in the UK. Whilst in reality 15 percent Britons’ food is for the bin, citizens in the United Kingdom estimate to use 95 percent of their groceries.
