Where Asia's Unicorns Are Born
Unicorns
Even though the Beijing Zoo counts some 950 species, the most valuable one is living outside the zoo’s walls. According to a survey by CB Insights, Beijing ranks first when it comes to Asia’s $1 billion startups, Unicorns are no rare sight in China’s capital. As a matter of fact, China has some expertise to offer when it comes to the breeding of rare animals, as their successes with Giant Pandas show. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the country offers the best topsoil for fast growing startups. Whilst in Beijing and Shanghai alone 46 Unicorns have been born between 2012 and 2017, India’s top tech hubs Bangalore and New Delhi can only offer eight billion-dollar companies during the same period.
