6,700 Rohingya Have Been Killed In Myanmar
Myanmar
According to Médecins Sans Frontières, 6,700 Rohingya Muslims including at least 730 children under five were killed in Myanmar's Rakhine state between August and September. These grim numbers are likely to be a conservative estimate and are far higher than Myanmar's official death toll of 400. The humanitarian agency also revealed the way people have been killed. The vast majority, 69 percent, were shot. Others were burned or beaten to death. The United Nations, western countries and humanitarian organizations have condemned the violence as ethnic cleansing, an allegation Myanmar denies. Since August, 640,000 Rohingya people have fled Rakhine.
