Easter in the UK by the numbers

80 million easter eggs are sold every year in the UK and the average child will consume 8 of them. That's 8,000 calories! This year, parents are going to buy £25 worth of Easter treats for their children while other friends and family will contribute £31, adding up to £56 on average per child. 78 percent of parents in Britain purchase easter eggs for their children and 27 percent have admitting eating their children's easter chocolate before they hand it over to them on Easter Sunday.
