Uber
How Popular Is Uber Around the World?
Uber, the ride-hailing giant, has announced it will work with BP to become a zero-tailpipe emissions mobility platform in the United States, Canada and Europe by 2030, and globally by 2040. To make this happen, the company plans on switching to a 100 percent electric vehicle (EV) fleet by 2025. Its drivers will then be given access to BP’s charging network.
Data from Statista’s Consumer Insights survey shows just how popular Uber is around the world. As the following chart shows, the company has gained considerable traction in Australia, where a third of respondents said they had used the ride hailing app in the past 12 months. The app is popular in the United States and the United Kingdom too, with one in four people saying they had used it in each country. The figures are somewhat lower in several other European countries, with only 7 percent of Italian survey respondents and 5 percent of Germans having used it.
