Americans Work Nights And Weekends The Most
American workers get a raw deal compared to everyone else on the vacation front. Adding insult to injury, they also have to work weirder hours than people in other countries. Since the 1970s, working hours have gradually increased in the United States with Gallup recently suggesting a standard 40-hour week now lasts 47 hours.
As a result, Americans are spending more time working nights and weekends. 29 percent of people stated that they work at the weekends with nearly 27 percent confirming they work nights. By contrast, only 7 percent of Dutch people work nights while 18.7 percent do weekend work.
