Soaking up the (Pub) Culture on Vacation
Brits are known for needing their home comforts when on vacation, and part of that for a large share of UK tourists is frequenting the local bar or, ideally, pub. As shown by the latest results of Statista's Global Consumer Survey, 41 percent of British holidaymakers said they at least occasionally go to the pub when travelling, compared to just 29 percent for both U.S. Americans and Germans.
This is put into further context when looking at the share that enjoy to visit a museum or two when away. Just 33 percent of Brits said they engaged in this activity, while the shares were higher for the U.S. (35 percent) and Germany (37 percent). To be fair, however, a majority (52 percent) did say they went sightseeing. Going to restaurants was the most popular activity for all three countries, while 'wellness' and going to clubs were generally low in the rankings.
