U.S. Experiences Surge in White Supremacist Propaganda
A new report published by the Anti-Defamation League has found that white supremacist propaganda has surged to alarming levels in the United States. It states that there were 5,125 cases of such material being spread by physical flyers, stickers, banners and posters that primarily contained racist, anti-LGBTQ and anti-Semitic messages.
The volume of propaganda spread in 2020 was nearly double the 2,724 incidents recorded in 2019. The Anti-Defamation League states that the data only refers to the spread of physical propaganda and that online hate messages are much more difficult to quantify, likely reaching into the millions.
