U.K. Star Wars Fans' Favorite Hero Isn't Luke Skywalker

Luke Skywalker isn't the favorite hero in Star Wars: It's Han Solo. At least, that's the case for the 662 U.K. fans polled by YouGov from December 6 to 9, 2019. Han Solo is the most beloved protagonist for 26 percent of the people who were polled. In second place was Luke Skywalker with 14 percent. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda were tied for third at 11 percent.

“The Rise of Skywalker,” the final movie in the Star Wars saga, debuted in theaters December 20. It featured the first same-sex kiss in the series, though director J.J. Abrams didn’t spoil which characters were involved in the LGBT smooch. “In the case of the LGBTQ community, it was important to me that people who go to see this movie feel that they’re being represented in the film,” the “Star Wars” director told Variety in December.

“I will say I’m giving away nothing about what happens in the movie,” he added “But I did just say what I just said.”
