Political Advertising Expenditure On Google By State

In May, Google announced it was making its political ad report available online and its findings were published last week. The data goes back to May 31st and it shows the amount spent on political ads on Google Ads Services in the United States. It provides an overview of the biggest buyers, the most popular key words and the totals by state. The top political ad spender was the Trump Make America Great Again Committee, a fundraising organization for the president and vice president. It had a spend of $629,500, ahead of second placed One Nation's $440,300.

In terms of states, Florida had the highest spend by a huge distance with $1.1 million. In April, Florida governer Rick Scott announced that he would challenge incumbent U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson in November and he has spent $324,00 on 356 ads since the end of May. By comparison, Nelson has only spent $150,200, less than half that. Tennessee is far behind in second place and its ad spend was $593,200 while Texas came third with $555,700. Rick Scott and Bill Nelson are also among the top keywords in the report with others including aclu and Rep. Sen Diane Black.
