Ireland

The constituencies with the highest No vote

Things are changing radically in Ireland with the public voting Yes to the introduction of same-sex marriage and the legalization of abortion in two recent referendums. As part of a feature on TheJournal.ie, Statista helped visualize how the two historic votes compare.

The following infographic provides an overview of the highest No voting constituencies in the recent referendums. Donegal was the only one to vote against the abortion in the Eighth Amendment referendum last month. Roscommon-South Leitrim had the highest no vote in 2015's same-sex marriage referendum.
