Education
The UK's most employable graduates
Every graduate is going to leave university having learned a great deal about the subject they studied. But in the harsh reality of the job market, do they also walk away from the lectures and seminars with what it takes to be successful in the world of work? This clearly varies from institution to institution and as the latest Times Higher Education employability ranking shows, universities in the UK are seemingly getting worse at providing their students with these key attributes.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Cambridge and Oxford top the ranking from a UK perspective. Looking globally though, Cambridge is in fifth place, and Oxford fifteenth. Not bad, especially given the extremely high standards set by U.S. universities (making up seven of the top ten). Worryingly though, every UK uni in the list dropped places compared to last year. The most extreme case of this was the University of Birmingham's fall from 90th to 142nd.
